July 10, 2020
Vote on July 11 and Again in November!
With all that is going on in the world, it can be easy to forget that we are in the middle of a very important election year. At Anderson Traylor Edwards, we wanted to take a moment to remind you to vote in the July 11 Presidential Preference Primary and/or your local election.
Only registered Democrats and Republicans may vote for their preferred presidential candidate, but voters in 24 parishes have a local election on their ballots, regardless of party.
Enter your parish, ward, and precinct here to see a sample ballot and prepare to vote. You can also download the GeauxVote Mobile app for smartphones or by visiting the Louisiana voter portal on your mobile device.
What to Remember About Voting
On July 8, 2020, Secretary of State Kyle Ardoin issued a reminder that Saturday, July 11 is Election Day.
He encouraged voters to remember:
- Polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m.
- Anyone in line by 8 p.m. will be allowed to vote
- Please bring an ID with you to vote (bring your Louisiana driver’s license, Louisiana Special ID card, digital license via LA Wallet, passport, or other photo identification with your name or signature) or be prepared to fill out an affidavit in order to vote
- Masks are recommended, although not required
- You can always contact the Elections Division for more information – 800.883.2805 or elections@sos.la.gov
Keep in mind that all parishes will be taking additional precautions in light of COVID-19. All polling commissioners will be supplied with personal protective equipment and will regularly sanitize designated areas and wipe down voting machines. Hand sanitizer will be provided to voters. Some polling places located at nursing homes, senior centers, or other senior-related locations have also been moved.
